  1. Hi all so I have used my solar filter with my 25mm eyepiece on my nexstar 8se, I used it about 1:30 in the afternoon so not best time for observing the sun but I noticed that it is really zoomed in and wonder what would be better to buy, 32mm eyepiece, 45mm eyepiece or a f6.3 focal reducer

    thank you all

  2. I have recently bought a celestron nexstar 8se and tonight I thought I would try and use it with this new iPhone holder to get some pictures through my phone and I have this bright circle that I see on my iPhone but when you look through the eyepiece it is fine. Could someone help me with this as I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong, I have left a couple of pictures below. Seeing conditions also were very poor it was really cloudy and had to wait for clouds to pass to quickly get a snap shot 429D92F9-4694-49B6-98AB-CE36B29CD3B7.thumb.jpeg.3629e6a4b9d6fd05853d4b417f296daa.jpegB7E270C0-0665-4410-B69D-867FAAE35077.thumb.jpeg.7fc89664acea464a48a1537dcc7a51a1.jpeg

  3. Hi everyone I have recently purchased a celestron nexstar 8se as an upgrade from my 4se but when I looked at Mars today Mars was very fuzzy and very difficult to get perfect focus, if anyone could help me to see why this was I would be very grateful

    thank you

Most objects, solar system or deep sky, will easily fit into the field of view of an 8se.   Although the low power/wide field is limited this can be greatly helped by using a focal reducer.

For very large objects like the Pleiades then binoculars come to the rescue.

Thank you, what focal reducer is good within a decent price range

    Thanks Joe

  5. Hi everyone, I’m looking in to buying a celestron nexstar 8se and was wondering what will I be able to see through the eyepiece, will I be able to see galaxies and nebulas?

Will I be able to get a glimpse of the further planets away Uranus and Neptune?

i also really wanna see the andromeda galaxy through an eyepiece, will an 8se be able to show me all these things in fairly decent detail through the eyepiece

also what sort of lenses would be useful for seeing things like the andromeda galaxy and nebulas and the 2 further planets Uranus and Neptune

    thank you all very much
