  1. Hi Steve, Welcome to SGL, it’s a great place to be! I am also retired and living in North Norfolk enjoying the dark sky here. I started astrophotography a couple of years ago and that’s when I joined. The help and advice I have received have been invaluable, I would have been floundering around without all the help I received. (Ignore that it looks like I just joined, had a problem logging in which I need to sort out.) Anyway, I wish you well and look forward to seeing your first photo. My first few were pretty poor compared to some of the amazing images I have seen here but I don’t care, they are MY rubbish images LOL. I have improved since those early days, I think. Keith
  2. Yes, I noticed I was still there but I couldn’t log in.
  3. Hi, I have been away since last winter and came back last week only to find I had to re-join as a new member for some reason. Did I do something wrong or has something changed? Thanks, Keith Edit. I was Moonshed before.
  4. I have had a Polemaster for a couple of years now and consider it one of my best investments, without it I could never manage to get such good polar alignment allowing me to take photos of DSOs. However, it has started playing up, I set up the mount and connect Polemaster to my laptop and run through the sequence. I click on Polaris, move the sliders to align the ring of circles over the stars and begin the steps where you select a star, rotate the mount 30 degrees and click on the same star again and repeat the process. Unfortunately the system keeps changing, sometimes it skips using the slider to align the ring of stars, and it keeps getting fixed in a loop repeating steps one and two over and over. I can’t find out what’s wrong. I have bought new cables, downloaded the software again, but keep getting the same fault. Has anyone else run into this problem? Anyone got any ideas? Any help appreciated. Thanks, Keith. PS I have just returned here after an absence since last winter and although I was recognised I had to create a new account. Has the site changed?
