  1. Thank you, that gives me a few things to check when i see it, ive been told that when it was not in use, it was always put on its padded hanging stand on the wall with cover on front, which i guess must be the one in the picture. I appreciate the help and i will let you know how i get on. Cheers Simon
  2. Hi Thank you for taking the time to read this and I could do with some advice on a telescope that I have been offered and it is very hard to find a value or details on it. All i know is that it is possibly a Braithwaite Reflactor Newtonian Telescope and have been told it is a 6 1/2 inch and 48" (1200mm) in focal length. It was bought by the owner back in 1993 and has been used but looked after very well. It comes with a few eye pieces and a Barlow x2, and an Equatorial mount and pillar stand. Recently the owner has passed away and their Daughter is now wanting to let it go (after clearing out his house) to someone who will use and appreciate it. she has know idea what value to place on it and I would like to offer her a fair price. I have had a few telescopes in the past and sold my Celestron AVX 8 last year (due to ongoing circuit board mount issues) and have missed just a visual telescope to look for fun as we live in a relative dark sky. All i know is that John Braithwaite was one of the last Scottish telescope builders and it has been hard to find anything on models/etc. I am hoping to see it next week so would like to know what i should be looking for on this older scope/mount. These are the only two images she has managed to get to me. Any help or advice would be appreciated Thanks Simon
