I am carrying on with my reading up but am gradually narrowing things down,
It has been suggested to me that to start I should just get the scope and mount, once I have got the hang of them, move on to a better camera and guiding. Camera wise the ZWO1600 mm would be the favourite so far for the step up.
Mount wise the SW EQ6 R pro would be the leader so far.
I have my eye on the Skywatcher Esprit pro 100 but could stretch to the 120, do people think I would get enough improvement to justify the extra cost?
Any comments and advice would be welcome.

I am looking at the same sort of set up to start deep sky and am trying to decide between the 100 which is an f5.5 and the 120 at f7, eventually I would hope to get a zwo1600.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I was interested to see the problem with availability.

I have a Celestron 127slt which I use for planetary observing but would like to start deep space photography.
What would people recommend, is it best to buy a beginner set up or get the best rig I can afford straight off. I see that a good mount is vital.
Budget wise I could stretch to £5000 or so if it was worth it.
I have seen it said that mono cameras/filters are better but make things more complicated - despite that would you still go that way.
Is it easier to get results and experience with a beginner set up then move on or will a higher spec rig make it easier to get something decent.
Thanks
