Hi all thanks for all the replies. the issue was with the setup. All sorted now and focusing correctly. Bit of an ID10T error.

Thanks all. yes I meant eyepiece. black spot was centred on the object but iPhone picture made it look off centre. problem was indeed with focus. I believe this is now corrected. Waiting for return if clear skies to be sure. many thanks all.

Hi all. Complete newbie here. I have an intes mk-67 catadioptric telescope and was looking to set it up for the first time. When looking at a bright star I see a black circle over the centre of the star. Moving the scope slightly the black circle follows the object. Is this an adjustment issue with the scope or something more serious. An example in the picture below taken with an iPhone against the view finder.
