Thanks for your help guys, I am also hoping to connect my Nikon D5000 to it (it’s my lightest  dslr) I know I need a T ring but I’m getting confused as to what else I will need, any answers would be much appreciated

This is the mount, it’s the best I can do at the moment as I don’t collect it until this afternoon. I have been told that it’s an EQ3 mount and not an EQ3-2.

Any help would be grateful

Hi All 

I’m new to astronomy and astrophotography, I have just got a 150P on an EQ3 mount (not EQ3-2) and would like to put a motor on it, can anyone offer some advice on what I fit to the mount all through the price range and good and bad points if any.

The set up I’m looking at has a EQ3 mount (not EQ3-2), can I fit a tracking system to this mount and if so what are my choices (all price ranges)

Thanks for all of your input guys, I am on a budget at the moment as we are soon to be moving from the UK to southern Spain (even less LP than where I am now). 

Peco, if  I manage to get captures like those you have then I will be a happy man, even just observing planets and stars would make me happy.

Hi, I am new to telescopes and all it entails, I am looking at a 150P on an EQ3 mount, my question is, is this setup not good for dslr astrophotography, and if not why not ? I would be using a Nikon D5000 or 7000 for the camera probably the 5000 as it’s lighter.

 I am Richard, a 50 year old twenty something , I live on the south coast of England just by the South Downs, I am a taxi driver by trade and a photographer by hobby with a passion for the night sky that I never did anything about other than a few long exposure shots with my camera. I am hoping to get my 1st telescope in the next couple of weeks, I’m looking at a Stargazer Explorer 150P at the moment as a starting point and am trying to learn and understand all I can about the world above our heads
