They are not all the same, but the one you have linked is actually very nice optically despite being a relatively low price. The downsides are that it only has a screw to hold the eyepiece and the lens cell may or may not be threaded for filters.
Powermates/focal extenders have a few advantages in that they won't vignette wide field eyepieces, the magnification is constant across eyepieces and eye relief isn't extended. However, the cheapest is three times the price of the linked barlow.
What sort of filters may it not fit?

Hey team, i am looking for a 2x barlow any recommendations? Are they all the same?
I was thinking of this one

The filter worked a treat guys i could see the moon without any issue and it does bring defination out i tried it on jupiter and it was nice on that too bringing out the clouds
Ps anyone find the weather weird? Teleacop was soaking wet last night and even tho its summer nights have been cold for me and not to dark.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone bought a ND96

And it will hopefully arrive in time for some nice clear night's Thursday and friday
Maybe summer will finally start now lol

When out doing school/scout group presentation with my club, I use ND96 1.25mm lunar filter
Find it brings out the features on the moon, and also do not get the harsh white light, especially when viewing towards full moon cycle
When use without the filter, and have 7-9yo's viewing the moon, their whole face lights up, when viewing through my 10" Dob
Like anything else respect filters
Try different filters also when viewing Mars, Jupiter and Saturn
Filters bring out different details

PS
Early next year, NASA is sending another Rover to Mars
The attached link will enable you to register to have your name included on the Mars Rover, and can also download Boarding Pass
https://mars.nasa.gov/news/8440/nasa-invites-public-to-submit-names-to-fly-aboard-next-mars-rover/
And we going back to the moon i will be taking a week off for that and following every step of it lol

If your astro budget is a little tight currently I'd say save your £'s. I find that I don't need to filter the moon even with my 12 inch scope.
I think im light sensitive looking at the light of the moon can be really harsh at times.

Good suggestion any recommendations on amazon i have prime delivery see but if you think thats the best one for the price il go for it lol

One way is not to use the extension tube but to loosen the eyepiece screws so that the eyepiece can be slid partially out of the holder while you are peering through it, until it reaches focus. Then you will have an idea how long an extension tube you need. It's obviously somewhere between 2 inches and zero inches !
That was pretty obvious so simple i over looked it thanks haha

Focusing on stars it ran out of outward travel i then tried my 2 inch extension tube that came with my celesteon 150 and it then ran out of inward motion.. which confused me and the one i bought didnt fit, any suggested alternatives would be welcome

Hey guys my friends considering joining the comminity hes considering getting this
https://www.firstlightoptics.com/beginner-telescopes/skywatcher-skyliner-200p-dobsonian.html
Would this be a good buy hes eager for it to be a dobsonian and this looks a lot cheaper than the orion xt8 and other competitors.
-
It wouldnt go far enough outwards which is why i gelt i need a adspter
-
Hello everyone, im currently having trouble focusing my xt8 classic dob, it wont focus with 2 inch eye pieces, what will i need to buy to get it to focus? I tried my celesteon omni xlt 150 extender adapter on it but wouldn't focus, any suggestions? It is a crayford tocuser on this xt8.

Hey all, just wondering if you all can tell me visibly easy to find good targets to observe this month? Im currently thinking globuler clusters since im told they are easier to find in comparison to galaxies but like to know what you all think.
-
I used the telescope last night and i saw m13 fine the difference between an 8inch and a 6 inch aptiture is huge.. far better than my celesteon 150 for detail
I think il just leave it the way it is seems to work fine all this is to complicated for me tbh 😂
Thanks everyone

As an after thought, I did have to adjust the mirror by adjusting the spider vanes as it was off to one side. The photo of your secondary clearly visible in the tube looks like it is in need of centering via the vanes too??
Cant turn the screws to adjust spider vain screws are far to tight

Update looks like some guy from the swansea astronomy centre will pop down within 2 weeks to look at it, hes owned a newtonian he thinks he can do it.. he said it should take 10 minutes.
I rather not touch this secondary anymore i feel im making it worse
Not sure about the vanes nervous to tamper with it now
