  1. I was very surprised this pic came out as well as it did. I was looking at the Orion Nebula through my Orion SpaceProbe 130ST with my NASA Orion sticker on the back. Using NightCap, I set my iPhone 7 to long exposure and held the phone really still (as still as my hands would allow). Fortunately I left my flash on without realizing it. So I was surprised when I looked at this later and saw that the constellation (as well as Sirius) came out nicely, even with the flash! Enjoy!
  2. Yes it was! Unfortunately, being a teacher I was unable to get the day off for it. This was just as well, because our school had purchased glasses for the entire school, and we all went out to the sports field during the eclipse to watch (it was pretty close to totality, close enough for my students to be impressed!). I was able to take a SunSpotter device out to set up, which gave some great views for the kids! I was even interviewed by an Atlanta news station about how to build a box viewer!
  3. Hello! My name is Mountaineerfan, and I am a new member from Milton, GA (north of Atlanta). Recently bought an Orion SpaceProbe 130ST, and have been loving it! I am an 8th grade science teacher, and love boring the socks off of my family and my students with everything SPACE! I'm looking forward to learning a lot of things from you wonderful folks!
  4. I recently bought a new Orion Spaceprobe 130ST. Nicest scope I've ever owned. On March 2, I was camping with some friends in Eastman, GA and took this picture of the full moon. I ran the picture through an Instagram filter that helped enhance the contrast (hence the bluish color). I used a GoSky mount to put my iPhone 7 on the 25mm eyepiece, and then zoomed in with the phone's screen. Enjoy! I'm just now getting into photography!
