Hi guys was thinking off putting celestrone electronic focused on my c11 xlt I’ve got starsence and Wi-Fi gadget on scope I run through my iPad but can you run focuser through iPad or has it got to be set up through handset I don’t want to connect to a computer to many cables going on will take any advice before buying as it’s not cheep is it worth the money 💰 👍

Hi thanks for getting back to me yes there has been few on corrector plate after a few hours of use but put few heater on and clears up no problem I have put on scope on distant objects from my backyard the images are not as sharp as they use to be but am terrified of taking corrector plate out because off the Rcx front focus on front mirror if it goes wrong I think I would struggle to get it working again 🤔cheers rob

Hi guys any body out there with Rcx 10 I was out other night looking at deep space objects noticed that the quality was not sharp objects they seam to very faint and dull no sharpness as the Rcx has thinking 🤔 it might be maybe corrector plates might need cleaned but even looking at Jupiter which is always bright in field of view was duller than useful any tips guys cheers rob

Hi Michael sorry never got back sooner but had family problems just a question on scope parked if you park scope you can still take it off tripod after night observing to put back in garage or do you keep your lx200 in tact under cover or canopy sorry about question but I’ve always had celestrone cpc telescopes never Meade especially Rcx thanks rob

Hi I think with the handset failing I could not get replacement so went for scope boss app and skyfi 3 I tried a run the other night with my Rcx it contacted to scope ok it was just the time it could not get maybe gps was not contacted or something else the scope boss app is different from handset when you are trying to enter a reset it doesn’t come up to save so will have to look far more info it cheers rob

I haven’t updated the firmware at all I only got this scope in August last year gps was working fine with the handset but as I was working with it the other night with scope boss it was taking long time to get gps fix I ended up giving up with scope the gps is not enabled thanks

Hi Mike the scope works fine it’s the handset that pact in so I downloaded the scope boss app to work with the skyfi app it works well but it won’t register the current time so it’s a small problem but a big one when it comes to telescopes will keep working on it and just get a bit off luck with it thanks rob

Hi Michael I don’t have the handset it broken but it’s working fine with the scope boss app apart from the time setting but I haven’t updated the firmware how do I get the update firmware to scope 👍

Hi Michael just an update on skyfi and Rcx setup I got it working as you said just a cable switch but I’ve noticed the it won’t save time it saves date and location but when I go to date it goes back to some default time I put time in again hit enter then when I check time again it’s back to default 😡any ideas cheers rob

Hi buddy I to live in small town outskirts of Glasgow in Scotland I got the local council to put led lights in street which helps but they would not dim lights or turn off at night as you say nobody out at night but it’s just the same as everybody else they won’t turn off you would think with the energy prices the would start turning off but no 😡good luck anyway cheers rob.

Thanks Michael will definitely give it a go tomorrow or Sunday I just put it down to being the Rcx as they are always throwing problems out maybe the hard drive on mount but don’t know thanks again rob

Hi Michael thanks for getting back about the scope I got the skyfi 3 and downloaded the scope boss app I set all up using the directions IP address and port number connection with Rs232 Wi-Fi adapter no joy would not connect to scope I tried for weeks can’t get it to work so I decided to contact a dealer in England to fix my handset he’s waiting on lcd display chip coming in I can’t use scope as you no focused on Rcx is on handset so I can’t do manual observing as I can’t focus that’s why I asked the question thanks rob

Hi guys I’ve read on other forums that you can add a manual focus on the Rcx because the run away focus on Rcx on goto is a bit rubbish has any buddy added manual focus button on there Rcx and if so how do you go about it thanks rob.

Thanks Michael will have to sit down and look into this on the scope boss app when downloading to iPhone when you switch screen round it says ip address and scope number can I ask what that means sorry if I sound stupid on this but do not do teck stuff am just simple eyepiece guy 🤪cheers rob

Thanks Michael I’ve downloaded the scope boss to my iPhone I will have to read more into it, about wi fi in my area it keeps cutting out and rebooting itself so don’t no how it would work with scope I’ve always used handset with my scopes so this would be new to me so will definitely take a shot at it thanks rob

Hi guys is any one selling a Meade autostar 2 handset am looking for one for my Rcx 400 telescope it’s got to be handset as we’re I live in Scotland the wi fi is crap so setting up scope through wi fi is a non starter for me cheers thanks rob

Very first thing I done cleaned it all up inside as I said it worked for a week after that then nothing no display on screen but you can hear it beeping so the power is there and you can still work scope with it but you can use it as no screen to function scope cheers rob

Hi Michael thanks for getting back to me the handset is getting power to it it works the scope but nothing showing up on handset screen I’ve tried cleaning it inside with alcohol wipes it worked again for a week then screen went blank again so problem is still there cheers rob
