    Hello from Sussex!

Hi all - new to Stargazers, old to astronomy, did astrophysics at uni, dusted off my old 8" Newtonian to get back into observing but need a new mount for it - one that doesn't move what seems like 1 arc minute every time I breathe on it!
  2. Hello again Anne, Would you be kind enough to measure the mount box for me please? The other mount has already been sold. Thanks in advance Pete
  3. Thank you - I've another mount to see on Friday, so don't worry about it until after that. What I'm thinking is rather than drive over from Kent, I could come on the train to Cardiff or Swansea and take it back that way if the head box will fit in one of my suitcases. I'll let you know after Friday. Many thanks!
  4. Hi Anne, do you have the dimensions for the mount head box? Also, would it be possible to meet at Cardiff? Thanks in advance, Pete
  5. Hi - would it be possible to view/purchase tomorrow or the weekend, and is there wriggle room in the price? Thanks, Pete
  6. Hi all - I'm just about to build a new controller for my old Orion scope on a GEM1 mount - I know getting hold of a controller is near enough impossible now, so I'm going to make one with a microcontroller and an analogue joystick (for variable slewing rate). I'll post the results as I build it, and will make the details available for free - was just wondering how many of these mounts are still out there?
