  1. WOW i'm guessing everyone has either missed these events or its that bad they're not worth repling to? Someone must have been to one of them? Cheers
  2. Has anyone been to dalby forest for one of the star watching evenings? Are they any good? What equipment do you use? Any information would be great Cheers Shep
  3. Thanks for the info. Its given me some things to think about like does a telescope break often? Ive had things shipped from the USA before and a lot of the cost is about how its sent. If its sent as a present you dont pay as much to get it shipped in. Expensive present though!!!
  4. I have a couple of strange question's. Like most people on here I've been looking at scopes on the web and we seem to pay more for our scopes than other countries. My first question is, can we get a scope shipped into the UK and will it work the same? I would assume that if you buy a none motorised/none goto scope everything is the same. My second question is, can we get a goto scope shipped into the UK and will the goto work? I have family which live in the USA and could get one shipped across cheaply. Thanks for your help Shep
  5. I bought mine from W H Smiths for around £5. Its a really good tool to help you around the sky. I didn't really know what i was looking at until I bought one. The only thing I find is I sometimes think I'm looking at something but I'm bit unsure if I'm looking at what I think it is.
  6. Richard You will have to let me know how you get on and what scope you go for. By the sounds of it you have about the same budget as what i was looking at spending. I liked the look of the celestron Nexstar SE (5" or 6"). Shep
  7. Hi Richard Did you get in touch with the H.E.R.A.S? I also live in Hull and would like to start gazing. I looked into it a while back but due to jobs and money I've been unable to buy a scope. I'm currently using binoculars which is good to start with. My only problem is some light pollution and some trees. Let me know how you get on Shep
  8. Hi Newbie Let me know how the sky-watcher 150 goes, I was looking at getting this for my first scope. Where did you buy it from? I live just down the road in Hull so I would most probably pop to the westwood to view the skys shep
