Planning on 'firslight' with my bargain 18mm WA AstroBoot e/p tonight. Instead damn fireworks going "whee", "whizz", "whoop", "bang" etc.

Just seen on BNR, (Radio Bulgaria), that 2015 has become "Year of Light" declared on the initiative of UNESCO & UN for International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies - does this mean more light pollution?

Had my 'modded' ETX backplate 're-modded' (+/- 24hours) to accept my SCT accessories.
More to follow in the DIY Astronomer section at a later date when it has had firstlight & tested etc.
