Hi all
Loving all these focusers.
Building one of these myself.
I have it all set up on the bread board and have tested the motor with small sketches and all is well.
I have th SGL group sketch of source forge ready but still waiting on sgl yahoo group so i can get the libraries.
all has been smooth untill i went to yahoo and have had a night mare joining. got in via mail rather than the join group button as its broken.
Evrything still greyed out at the moment so ill have a look tomorrow.
Still to do is stick it all on a stripboard and mout motor to scope.
2 more will be made once ive sussed it all out

I love my astromaster. Yes its my first scope and i do agree it has its issues and ive made mods to it. Ive also stripped and re greased the mount which mad so much slicker. Im looking at upgrades all ready after 2 months but not due to quality or comparison with other scopes but because i know its a starter scope and its got me hooked on this game hook line and sinker.

I have the same issue as the OP and am considering moving the primary but your idea is something I have not tried,
Just to clarify are you saying unscrew the lens form the barlow and attach that to the adapter or unscrew the lens from the barlow and attach the barlow?
This may be the OP's problem too as i read it
This is my adapter and ring. i cant get focus with this
This is my barlow with above place in it. it focuses with hi magnification.
i unscrew the lens from the barlow
And put it in the adapter /t-ring combi. this corrects the focus but brings camera closer to the tube decreasing magnification

Yes It needs a barlow as the focus tube doesn't go in enough to achieve focus.
Problem is if you put you adapter in the barlo you get too much magnification sometimes so what i do is unscrew the barlows lens and screw it on the adaptor. This brings the camera about 10 mm closer to the tube reducing magnification

Had a similar result last week with a 70-300 @ 300 mm on the 1100d. Though i did get some reflections in it but it was great just seeing the HH co e through however feint it was.
