Hello!
Been some time since I posted anything here. Been out of the Astro loop for a while, but finally got the bug again, and am glad to be back.
This the fish head IC1795 which is the tail of the heart nebula. I had a few consecutive nights to gather data so I took advantage of it.
I had a hard time getting used to the starnet process in pixinsight so I think my stars have some artifacts around them, but I can continue to figure that out as I learn more about it. I also think the HA focus may have been a bit soft, or my combo right now just doesn't have as good of detail as i thought it should have. Constructive Criticism welcome. Thank you!
Taken with an AT8RC, Atik 383l+, Baader Narrowband 36mm filters on a MACH 1 GTO Mount.
5 hours of HA - 1200s
3 hours OIII - 1200s
3 hours of SII - 1200s- 6

I am so sorry about this delayed response. I have been out of the game for a bit here.
I use a filter wheel and focus with each filter using an autofocuser. It pinpoints the best number for the stars in the image and sets it for me every hour.

I still havnt gotten the colors on this one to look like the hubble pallet no matter what i change ..does it require all three narrrowand filters to achieve this?

Thank you i appreciate it.

I started out with a dslr but never had a chance to try a HA filter with it. The only thing I did was self mod my t3i.
I'll probably remap and play again to see which brings out the most detail for the colora shown.

I am going to add OIII and see what that brings. Had a tough time with colors I think I had 5 different color combos I was playing with.

I finally got some SII Data to add to my HA data and got them processed. 5 hours 20 mins of data. So here is my version. Mapped the HA to green and the SII to Red and used the HA as a LUM. I like the definition between the green and gold dust so i left the colors instead of changing to the HA gold like the modified Hubble. Thoughts?

I was able to achieve 45 second expos using the ALT AZ mount and a 6" SCT, just go higher ISO take darks to reduce noice. Also wait a while between shots that way the scope can settle between shots.

Thank you I was quite pleased for a first time!

This was 15 images ranging from 30 seconds to seven minutes.

Nice single shot. Take a few of those and stack them in DSS and see what you can come up with. I am still a beginner as well. I was told to save the format as a PNG, and it will show a lil more detail. You should be able to get anywhere from 60 to 120 seconds from a good alignment, so if you take a few at 400, a few 800, a few at 1600 iso and stack em, you can get a lot more to come out. Also make sure you are shooting in RAW.

Guess I should open it in photoshop and stretch it. Its a lil dim now.

I am going to try reprocessing on pixinsight see what I can come up with.

And the halo is from me doing a gradient removal in photoshop not know how to do it but watching a quick video. Its sort of cool, but it would be better if I had gotten rid of the halo. Funny the halo didn't stand out until I posted it up. Much more noticeable here then on my screen. Strange.

Here is my first processed prime focus short stack of Orion nebula. I had a lot more colorful pics but they were too grainy to use and I could not et registax to align properly. Apparently I wasn't aligned very well as I could only get 15 sec subs.
