Hello! Not sure if I have every posted here, but I need some help with a potential purchased of a used Daystar Scout -- especially as it relates to other equipment purchases/requirements
- What method have DLSR owners used to attach to the Scout -- 1.25" T-adapter (M42) with appropriate adapter ring for DSLR model?
- Is a UV-IR filter is required or is part of the Scout itself?
- I understand that it is possible to separate the scope from the etelon ('quark') on the SS60DS to use on another refractor, but is simply stopping down the aperture at the front of the scope an easier/safer way to improve the image quality?
Also a very general question: I have viewed some absolutely beautiful images created using a Daystar Scout, but I have also noticed many 'beginner' images with that device that just show a simple featureless red sphere Sun -- why is this? Are the beginners not doing something properly, or is the elelon damaged?
Thanks for any help you can provide!
