Thanks for all the help on this.
I've just been offered an aluminium case with uncut foam that will let me pack the ED80 securely
Thanks to everybody

I'm about to sell a couple of scopes as I'm selling up (age not lack of enthusiasm)
I've an Equinox 120 which I've the case for so that shouldn't be a problem but I'm mainly concerned with my Equinox 80 which has no case.
I've looked around at packaging materials but can't really find anything that looks safe enough
Of course the ideal situation would be for me to state 'pick up only' but that does limit the market quite a bit
Has anybody any suggestions, tips or any ideas, experiences, that might help me?
Thanks

Esprit 80 Draw Tube/ Focuser problem
in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups
Posted
I've a recently acquired a Skywatcher Esprit ED80 which I've been after for quite some time.
My problem is that the draw tube is so stiff it's hard to turn the focussing knobs.
I've put a ZWO EAF on to the scope but it just gives up as everything is too stiff.
Looking around the forums it appears that there are two screws on either side of the focuser that could be used for adjustment but I've also read dire warning about loosening these too much as if the pads inside drop out they're hard to get back.
Just wondered whether anybody else has come across this problem?
I've seen posts about the draw tube being too loose but not the opposite
Any assistance/suggestions would be very welcome
Thanks
Martyn
