  2.  With my Redcat 51,EAF, Asiair plus, 120 mm guide scope, AM5 mount, I just purchased a Asi2600mc Pro instead of the Asi533mc pro.  I also got a Optolong L-Ultimate 2” Dual Bandpass Light Pollution Reduction Imaging Filter. I'm going to place the filter in the imaging train of the Redcat.  And get a 2" filter wheel later once i build up my funds again :-0 . I dumped the expense into the 2600. I Hope everything works out....

  3. Thanks for the advice, I have a Redcat 51, AM5, 120mm G S. Asiair Plus, EAF,  I was going for the 1.25  5 place filter wheel but as someone said go for the 2" wheel to future proof, I think that's a good Idea.  Also I'm going for the Optolong 2" L-Ultimate Dual Bandpass Light Pollution Reduction Imaging Filter.  And adding Ha/OIII and a SII/OIII filters to the wheel also.

    Whats everyone's thoughts on that.

But what others do I need with a Color Camera like the Asir533mc Pro.  Do I need LRGB Set  and the Hydrogen Alpha, Oxygen 3, Sulfur 2,   Where does the L- Ultimate go in the wheel?     If you add all the filters I listed with the Ultimate there's 8 filters. and Ideas tks

  5. Just starting out and have a few questions.  I have a pretty good view of the sky, but I do have trees along the back part of my property, and my house on the other side. How do you plan a shooting of an DSO when It comes up in sight at around 2:00am then out of site around 5:00 am with obstacles in the way.  Can you set  your Asiair plus to start imaging when target is at a certain location then stop at another location?  Or do you have to be up at 2:00am the start session and plan how may images till the target is in the lowest shooting location.     Also Ive heard you can take several targets during the night,  any suggestions tks ....

  6. Don't know alot about Using a RedCat 51 with solar filters but I read this on Cloudy Nights this guy stated the following.:

" be advised that direct sunlight is destructive to many anodized finishes, especially the red. After moderately heavy use, the color on my Lunt LS-50THa is more like pink than red. "

Hope this helps anyone thinking about using the RedCat 51 for solar use.... I don't want to mess up my RedCat 51.

  7. I'm new to the hobby, I so far have the following.   RedCat 51,AM5, 120mm Guide Scope mini, Aisair Plus, DSLR Canon Camera.  My question is about all these Filter Wheels and sizes.  I see 50.4mm filter Wheels 5 or 7 filters, and then there are 31mm filter wheels. I noticed that the 31mm filter wheels are cheaper.  So which one to go with? Plus all the filters to go in them Ahhhh..... Also can you use filters on DSLR's or Astrophotography Dedicated cameras, If anyone has some advice let me know tks.... Cheers 🙂

  8. New to this hobby, been watching ton's of YouTube vids getting some ideas and learning.  I may have a lot of questions later down the road.  Ive added some pictures to show the rig I'm building, this is the main components I'm building around.  I have already got these Items shown. I picked up the Redcat 51 at a real good price, it came with a Skyguider pro that I sold to get the AM5.  It also came with a Canon EOS T6i. I'm looking into selling this camera and getting a Canon 60D for now I'm looking also doing some milky way shots and moving stars videos. Also I'm looking at a ZWO Camera's not sure which one to get to fit this rig. I'm looking at the Asiair ZWO ASI183MC Pro or the ASI533MC Pro to do some DSO shots not sure which one to get. And still learning about filters and color wheels.  Kinda overwhelmed with all this learning curve but I'm a trooper and wont quit because I'm eager to learn.  Look forward to Chatting with everyone and learning.... Cheers 🙂
