Daddyoh

I have a Meade Model 4504 Digital electronic autolocator, I have had this telescope for probably 20 years but I'm still a novice. It's always been fun to use. Lately, I have noticed that the worm gears and main gears on the RA and Dec on the equatorial mount no longer engage continuously they stay a few mm apart. I was hoping I could get some advice on this problem. I'd like to give this Telescope to my granddaughter or grandson. Then purchase me a new or a newer used scope. Help is appreciated!
