  2. amazing!... so many stars...
  3. Second try at the moon with the C8 NGT.
  4. Found this from celestron Celestron SkySync GPS Accessory - 93969 - OPT Telescopes and a cheaper option. StarGPS NX for Celestron NexStar Telescopes - OPT Telescopes anyone tried any of this?...seems nice to have...
  5. That's it... second night testing the C8 NGT.. didn't plan on take the camera out, but this cluster looked really bright through the EP, just had to try it. 8x15s iso800 and 4 darks. Also tried again Omega Centauri, happier with this one. 8x15s iso800, 4x15s iso400, 4x15s iso1600, 8darks
  6. Nice Fenriz!.. ive never even heard those programs When first arrived i strugled with the colimation (first time), and left it somewhat ok, but not spot on. Last night took it out and started checking this and i think i need better collimation.
  7. Thanks, yes.. i've been watching some video tutorials.. still struggling with photoshop but i think i made a little improvement to the omega cluster photo.. not great yet tho, but i'm really enjoying playing with this...
  8. Yup, really happy with the results, considering that the moon really bright on top. here is the same with the settings right out of DSS... i get a lot more stars but the sky seems too bright also testing on the orion nebula (5x10 sec and 4 darks) and also tried the sombrero galaxy to check if i got anything.. this was a surprise, also 4 x15 sec and 4 darks)
  9. my first night testing my new C8 NGT also tried the orion nebula, but is late and just had energy to wait the process of one... i just played a little on photoshop, but i have no idea what i was doing. the result on DSS looked better 4 lights, 4 darks, 15 seconds iso 800 on a Sony NEX 5N
  10. my first night testing my new C8 NGT also tried the orion nebula, but is late and just had energy to wait the process of one... i just played a little on photoshop, but i have no idea what i was doing. the result on DSS looked better 4 lights, 4 darks, 15 seconds iso 800 on a Sony NEX 5N I've moved it to Imaging Deep/ Sky. Barkis.
  11. single, so not a problem yet. i though i would make more of a mess... i used to fly/run rc planes/cars... cleaning those was a hassle, this was pretty tame compared to that
  12. yes i did. cleaned everything before applying the new grease.
  13. Done!... ok, took it nice and easy... saturday afternoon started taking it appart, found the worm assembly and the shaft were really tight...the greasy seemed not even on the parts, so sunday bough a can of white grease (lithium based).. and regreased everything... all is very smooth now, it's really noticeable when slewing manually and balancing. not really sure what was the factor that "fixed it"... but reagreased and adjusted the worm and worm gear and now is working ok on both axis... not showing the problem anymore. thanks for the advice people... regards mteg
