  1. This is my sketch of M51, NGC 5195, and the recent supernova 2011dh. I hope you guys get out to see this one! It really is quite spectacular. Clear Skies, Brandon Doyle
  2. Here is my recent sketch of M98 through my 10" reflector at 200X. I've been checking-off quite a few messier objects lately. This summer it's on though. I'll see what a few hours (if not a whole night) can do to M11, the wild duck cluster. I looked at it the other night under 200X and it completely filled the 0.29 degree FOV. It was spectacular! Hope to post it as soon as I get it all done!
  3. Sorry, I forgot to attach them to my post above, here they are:
  4. Hey guys, I just thought I'd post all of my most-recent sketches of a couple of some great objects. I had a really clear night and saw some great things. The cold really didn't bother me because I was so excited about what I seeing & sketching! I hope you like them
  5. I've been thinking about this for a little while. Would it be possible to convert an everyday AM FM radio into a radio telescope? Just wondering.
  6. Yeah, sorry about my handwriting, It can be a little hard to read for some people. I use a classic 1959 60MM refractor for my solar work because a 10" reflector is way too much for the projection method. I'd like to get a visible light filter, but money is a little short right now & I'll try and get one asap. I'm definately going to get one before the transit of Venus next year though! That's an event I want to view with my own eyes through the telescope, & not something projected on a board. I attached a pic. of me taken a little while ago when I was suing this setup.
  7. Here is a sketch of M27 I did through my 10" a little while ago. Unfortunately I didn't think to get the orientation at the time, so the next time I take a look at it I'll try and get that down.
  8. Thanks for the compliments everyone! & jon65 (not sure of your name) I have more sketches coming if you want to see more.
  9. Hey guys, here is a sketch I did this morning of a sunspot group on the sun:
  10. Hi, I'm new to this forum, & I guess this is my first post. It's a sketch of M82 I did a few weeks ago, and it's one of the best sketches I've ever done of it.
