Scorpius

Hawksmoor

We had a holiday in Sicily, which was nice. I thought "why don't I take my astro DSLRs , a fast 50mm lens and a lightweight plastic tripod and see if I can get a picture of the constellation Scorpius? It turned out that the balcony to our room looked between two buildings and in the sky between them was the Scorpion. Lots of light pollution but it is churlish to complain. This image was created from over 500 x 5 sec lights at ISO800 and F1.4.
