It was the first time I imaged with my vintage Nikon 105 mm f2.5 manual focus lens.

I had never used it for astro-photography, stopped down to f4 it gave nice results as evidenced above.

Canon 70D

IOptron star tracker pro

Rigel finder system

27X90sec

ISO 2000

Stacked and processed in PS CS 5

Exposures and intervals were controlled by the Canon utility and monitored through Canon's DPP software, which is nice because it opens along with the utility and you can see the raw files right away and enlarge them to inspect focus and tracking.

I took a total of 41 shots but discarded about 14 of them because of tracking errors or the remaining haze had made the stars bloom too much.
