Turns out I should have not used a 90degree bend for the conduit. Turned out alright in the end as we weren't putting an armoured cable down this bit so it didn't matter. PS much easier to put in the string at this stage, BEFORE the conduit is surrounded by hard concrete. Vacuum and wrapping tape worked well though to pull through a thread..
