Montgenèvre By Night

The location of a very enjoyable family holiday which I have had the pleasure to go on last week in the French/Italian Alps. Hot sun, clear nights, lots of walking, bit of golf, very nice food, and some luging thrown in for good measure.

Taken directly above Le Pot De Miel, Montgenèvre in the alps on the border between France and Italy looking over the mountains and directly into the centre of The Milky Way. The line is a satellite and not a shooting star as I first thought although plenty of shooting stars were there to be seen.

Nikon D3100 on a tripod for 40 seconds using standard lens at 18mm.

F/4.5 ISO1600
