Fornax 51 mount

I'm visiting Tivoli in Namibia next summer and I've booked some time on the observatory with a Fornax 51 mount with FS-2 control. Questions:

  1. Does anyone have any experience of controlling this mount using Maxim DL?
  2. Do I need a guider with a EQ106 on board?
