Antares, Mars and Saturn.

I'm in Turkey right now, in the bright and bustling resort of Marmaris.

A few nights ago I noticed a configuration of bright stars low in the SW which I couldn't identify from memory.

It's not a good area for star gazing but bright stars are visible.

Luckily I had my friend SkySafari to hand and within seconds identified the broad asterism as Antares, Mars and Saturn.

It's amazing what a difference 30 deg of latitude makes.

I was taken by surprise with them having been lost to twilight from home latitudes.

I'm enjoying watching Mars' commune with Delta Scorpii as each evening passes.

Stargazing at it's most basic! :)
