Samsung SCB-2000 and SDC-435 IR Filter Removal

With the growing popularity of the Samsung SDC-435 and SCB-2000 cameras Brian made a Tutorial of how to remove the factory fitted Infrared Filter from these cameras.

The In-built filters in Security cameras (and even some AstroVideo cameras) have a cheap poor quality IR filter which is at the wrong Cut-Off point in the spectrum and will cancel out up to 30% of wanted light.

The Samsung SCB-2000 & SDC-435 Camera's IR Filter comes out easily by undoing just 2 screws.

Step 1: pull off the top plate off the camera and disconnect the small cable connecting the Iris outlet- it is a push on connector, no latch- you just have to wiggle it back and forth a little.

That's it! Job Done

The black plastic filter holder and the filter will fall out the front opening of the camera.

Just put the case back together and you are ready to go

Here's what falls out the front (you don't need them but you may feel like storing them somewhere in a dark cupboard to be forgotten forever LOL!
