Beginner What to Get?

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Granted my 1st post of many however, I have a budget of £300 for a scope.

I would like to get into astrophotography over the next few months. However, i am yet to buy a scope.

I have been doing some research and have found the Skywatcher 150P EQ3-2 set look good. However, if anyone has any better advice that would be great.

By the way. Hi from the Midlands (Heat Island Heaven)

Hi Warren, welcome to SGL

The 150p and EQ3-2 is a good starting point, and should do a decent job on imaging moon an planets with webcam.

It is not suitable for imaging deep sky objects (DSO) because the EQ3-2 is not a stable or accurate tracking platform for long exposure imaging. The most important piece of equipment is the mount for DSO imaging, and HEQ5 is the minimum requirement.
