I am pretty much committed to getting a Skyliner 8" Dob,but in the long term would like an EQ5 mount as well.Can I take it that I will be able to get rings with dovetail fittings so that I can interchange the scope between the two options at will? Can anybody point out any objections /difficulties with the arrangement that I am missing? There are times when I need the extra height of the EQ to see over the hedge... and I do like the slow mo controls on my cheapie gem,whilst not being desperately interested in mastering the mysteries of RA/Dec.
