Sony a290

Hi all

My wife has recently bought herself a Sony a290 dslr and I am already thinking of putting this to better use. Is there any way to extend the exposure time to more than 30 seconds on this model or control it through pc software.

I already have a webcam for planets/moon pictures so I am thinking now of trying DSO's especially Orions nebula.

Im not fully conversant with the A290 but if you use it in full manual mode, I think you can set it to BULB which is greater than 30 seconds. you have to use a remote though. Try asking the same question on DYXUM forum which is dedicated to Sony/minolta cameras.
