First attempt at imaging (help)

Hello

Please bear with me this is my first go at imaging.

I have just brought the DFK21 ccd camera and i had a go tonight at imaging the moon, all was ok with the moon sitting in the capture screen.

But when i try to locate a bright star i just cannot seem to get it in the capture screen,i line the star up in the eye piece then i take the diagonal out and insert the dfk but all i get is a blank screen.

I am using the sharpcap capture software with the dfk attached to a celestron nexstar 8se.
