CELESTRON NEXSTAR 4 SE

Recommended Posts

Hi,

New here today Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

I have just bought a Celestron Nexstar 4 SE (Second hand) on arriving all looks in good order and maintained. BUT if you look from the front lens down in to the scope it is full of cob webs (Last owner had kept it in the loft with no cover over the eye piece). There are two screws on the sides of the front lens is it safe to remove theses and take the lens off to clean ? or will this cause any damage to the scope?

Any advice on this please

Thanks

Steve

I would be tempted to take it to a professional for cleaning. Unless that is you have the skills to clean the scope yourself. What a shame the previous owner didn't look after the scope very well. I have the same scope. It's been brill for me.
