Forgot to set my finderscope

a word of warning for any fellow newbies. I have taken my scope out for the first time tonight but forgot to set up the finderscope! I am finding it impossible to work out what i am looking at so have just ended up scouring the skies from side to side. Still great views though!

I will be back out soon to look for Saturn, maybe i will get lucky.

i have just been reading up on how to polar align the eq mount, i am going to try that instead and hope fully i will be able to use the rac dials instead.
