Well not new, and not even mine, but new for me! I have been kindly lent an 8" Meade LX 10 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.

Need to figure it sall out, set it up and colimate (correct word?) it etc.

Trouble is it is looking cloudy for the next few days, wondering if anyone has used this scope, and knew what I can expect to see?

It has an Orion moon filter, a 9.5mm, 16mm and 25mm Plossl eyepieces.

I also want to get some photos, the deal was he lends it to me, I send him photos, so I would love to hook this all up with my camera, and was hoping to get some advice on this also... I have a Canon 5D Mark II camera. Deep sky photography won't be possible will it as it doesn't have the correct mount (I think).

Thanks :D

Good scope you have there.

Don't forget, that collimation for the SCT is not the same as newtonian... study hard and be careful to check that it actually needs collimating before goinf near it with a twiddling stick !
