Baader Genuine Orthos

Hi all

Few quid to spend, so was thinking about an 18mm Baader Genuine Ortho.

Was wondering if anybodys used this EP and does it barlow well (with a good barlow that is)

Ive got the TMB 6mm Plan 2 ,so this would give me a 6 ,9 (with barlow) and 18,a 32 mm Skywatcher Panaview is probably my last (ahem!) purchase.

Is this a good range of EPs for a 200p F5 Skywatcher.

Comments and thoughts welcome.

It should work well but my experience with the BGOs is that they are more suited for planetary/lunar observation. However I never tried one with this long focal length as I prefer wide fields for DSOs.

It barlows OK (with a good barlow) but the 9mm is definitely clearer than 18mm + 2x barlow even when the barlow is a good one. The real plus side of the BGO is its contrast & that suffers to some extent when barlowed, making the improvement over a standard Plossl much less obvious.
