polar align max connection problems

I am having massive problems getting polar align max to work, it opens in maxim but then will not find the ccd window etc and crashes

Am i missing something simple with this software because i am at a loss with it and the lack of online instructions for the program have left me scratching my head

help :)

Only used it with CCDSoft/TheSky, but as I remember there was very little to do there - pretty much 'just worked'. Great bit of software if you can get it working, so worth persevering with.

i have attached an image of what the screen sayes when it crashes

both my ccd camera & guide camera are connected in maxim

my mount is connected in maxim

so is it me and am i stupid ??

err... thats a VERY old version of PAM, you need to grab the latest one ( PAM V2.0.55.zip )from the PAM and FM Yahoo group, which I am sure will fix the well known issue with Maxim 5 (and a LOT of apps have the same problem). Just extract the ZIP into your existing PAM folder.

Do you have the GSC 1.1 catalog installed?

Well, you`ll need both... GSC 1.1 catalog is free to install (http://gsc.dc3.com), and creating a yahoo account to get at the FM/PAM area (plus the numerous others you will end up joining) is free too. Its your call

polarlalign max now works a treat, it was as you said an old copy so all i now well

A lot of applications that control Maxim got messed up when it moved to Maxim v5, so it was only a wild guess
