IR/UV CUT FILTER MOUNTING LOCATION

I'm now getting back into astronomy, viewing and imaging, and have a Nexstar 8SE and a ZWO ASI224MC.  In getting all my S together, I have read that the use of an IR/UV cut filter should be used all the time. (yes/no?)  My two mounting options are screwing the 1.5" filter into the camera's nose-piece which would work for imaging WITHOUT the Celestron F6.3 reducer/corrector in line.  The second option using the reducer inline would require a 105mm back focus adjustment utilizing two 42mm extender tubes from the front of the reducer to the sensor's face.  If indeed the filter should be used all the time, with and without the 6.3 focal reducer, I'm thinking to actually mount the filter directly on the camera body, just over the sensor's location.  If this forums consensus would agree this may/would work, then I may give it a shot.  After a very thorough cleaning and surface preparation, only using three small spots of an adhesive, (Silicone adhesive - for easy removal when needed), the filter would be "on duty" all the time.  Question is - is it "better" to mount this filter in this close location - ~5mm from the sensor's face, or is it preferred to mount the filter further away?  Thanks for any comments + OR -   .................
