IC342 - Hidden Galaxy

Searching around for a target last night and I came across IC342 in Stellarium, so thought it was worth a go to see what I could get.

All I could see on the 6 minute subs was the fuzzy core, so it was a case of hope for the best. I did a quick stack and process it this morning using DSS & PI to make sure there was something there and this is want I came up with.

This is 32x 360s subs with darks, flats & dark flats at 120 gain and offset of 8. The kit is Evostar 100ED DS Pro on a EQ5 with ZWO ASI294MC Pro cooled to -10°C and guided.

It looks like it could be clear again tonight so I hope to add another 3-4 hours of data to this and get more detail & reduce the noise a bit more, but it's not too bad for a faint object.

C&C's welcomed. ;)

Well, I managed another 3 hours of data on this target giving me a total of 63x 360s subs (6 hours & 18 mins).

I read that there's a lot of dust in this area so I assumed that the green/brown cast to the background was from this and decided to leave it in there. The stars are reduced slightly to make the galaxy stand out better and this is a much cleaner image with the extra data.
