Celestron – StarSense Explorer - Newbie advice

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I`ve wanted to get into Astronomy for years, but the initial hirdle of being able to navigate to objects in the sky has always put me off. Now that Celestron have released the Starsense Explorer range, that beginner problem seems to have been almost completley solved and I`m ready to jump in.

Could someone please suggest if this is a good model?? I`m looking to get something which can gather as much light as possible - would like to observe a bit of everything whilst I work out what my preferences are.

Also, would be it be a good idea to get a 2x barlow ? I appreciate it will take a while to get an idea of what direction to go in for eyepeices, but a barlow lens seems like an obvious thing to start off with - thoughts?
