What magnification will I need to split binary stars?

I have a celestron nexstar 4se and am hoping to be able to split binary stars. I have a 4 inch aperture and am using a magnification of 220x. Will I be able to split binary stars with that or will I need to make some changes? Other than that, what binary stars are good ones to look at? Thanks, Corkeyno2

Welcome to SGL. Your Nexstar 4SE will split many double stars and you don't need 220x for all of them. As Rockystar stated above have a look at Albireo - lovely colours.
