I have a Bresser 102 f6 acromat with a cheapo finder scope and I want to replace it with an 8 x 50 illuminated finder but the Bresser finder has a narrow shoe. I have looked at removing the shoe but it is not held with capive nuts and if I unscrew the shoe the nuts obviously will drop inside. The ota ends each have three screw but on removing these it appears that niether the fornt lens nor the focuser ends won't budge. They mut be held with an adhesive as well as the screws.

Has anybody had or got one of these scopes and successfully replaced the finder, if so any pointers?
