Usually when I use DSS I get lots of gray images.

So I read many guides and youtube tutorials and still am confused. 

Some people save as TIFF with APPLY checked

Some people save as TIFF with EMBEDDED checked

Some people save as 32bit per channel.

Now, if it is embedded it is using TIFF PRIVATE TAGS, and since these are custom to DSS (correct me If I am wrong), then other applications will be unaware of these tags and their semantics (meaning).

Now, if it is saved as 32bits per channel, Photoshop can load it but only manipulate 16bits per channel, so why save as 32bits per channel if that will be downconverted.

What is the correct (or best) way to save stacked images in DSS?
