first ever DSS project

Recommended Posts

ok This is my first ever DSS endeavour, after reading lots and lots I plonked my Canon 5D on my photo tripod since I don't yet have my astro one, fitted it with my Sigma 100mm, set the aperture at f4, shutter speed at 2 secs, aimed at Cassiopeia and ran off 10 light subs and 10 dark ones, I combined them in DSS, then applied a little processing in photoshop, I am really excited to have so many stars come out for 2 sec exposures, although I suppose that equates to 20 secs at ISO 800.

Even at this short an exposure I see the stars at the outside of the field look as though they are about to start trailing, or is that the distance moved over the 20 sec integration time?

any advice to this newbie very welcome please?
