Meade ETX 125 Smartfinder problem

Hi I have a Meade ETX 125 and cannot get the Smartfinder to align with the main scope at all. I cannot get the object that the scope is centred on aligned with the SmartFinder's red dot. The screws on the Smartfinder don't seem to have enough movement.

Don't know about the Smartfinder (sounds like an everyday red dot finder) but have read of RDF's having this problem. Usually the owner has to put something (shim) under the front or rear of the finder pale to allow the screw adjusters to be in the right area.

Cannot say more then that as some may need more or less of a shim then others to adjust the angle at which the RDF sits.
