thanks everyone for your recommendations. have picked up a copy of turn left today and will see how i go with that for now. hoping to get out for my first obs before the end of the week but the weather might put paid to that yet. we shall see.

Beautiful skies over Matlock Bath tonight. Took my scope out for the first time. Saw a rather beautiful Saturn in most of its (albeit beginners) glory. Wow.
