New to SGL, not new to astronomy

..one thing I did manage this last week (I think) was a visual observation of Mercury, Mars, the Moon, Jupiter, Saturn (later) and Venus (the next morning). I had the distinct advantage of being in Bangalore on business and out of the city center to the east. However the reason for staying up most of the night had nothing to do with the stars (I won't go into details) and is the same reason I have found to spend quite some time on here today. Home now and the "day caretaker" (uses obs as bird spotting hide) is providing TLC while she tells me the seventh planet will calm down soon - I hope so!

Really odd seeing the sky so far south.. Orion and Jupiter overhead and the Moon so thin in a dark sky. Flying back, the dawn chased me from Turkey to Leeds.
