Binos- don't think this is normal?

Hey guys- new around these parts. I just purchased some 11x70 binos from a local supplier and unfortunately I think they may have to go back.

When looking at the moon there is definite double vision with a few amount of degrees between them and also a rattle on the right hand side of the binos.

Normal or cause for concern? I think I know the answer but would like to get some more informed advice!

I thought as much. The shame is they came from interstate (by local I meant in Australia - no truly local astro shops) so I will have to post them back. The package was not at all damaged when it arrived so I am going to guess they were damaged before they were boxed up.

Hopefully the retailer will be understanding!

I guess it's the down side to all of this stuff becoming more affordable- as the price drops so too does the quality. These are far from expensive binos but I'd still think they would at least work! Especially after coming recommended from the shop.

It'll be a long wait until Monday when I can contact them.
