Enhancing star colour problem.

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I'm trying to get to grips with enhancing star colour and I have hit a brickwall of sorts.

Basically I am trying to follow the method in these tuts...

... which goes along easy enough until I get to the last part. When I saturate the star layer it also saturates the background copy even though It's not checked and has the padlock showing, and then when I hit flatten image it just combines it like the whole image was saturated.

What am I doing wrong here?

OK, I found a way to do it but without any extra layers like those mentioned in the links above by just selecting the stars with the wand and selecting inverse and changing them that way.

It seems much easier that way which makes me think it's not exactly the right way to do it, but it seems to work.
