EQ1 RA motor

I have bought the single-speed RA motor for my little mak on its EQ1 mount, but have found that when looking east the scope hits the motor housing. I tried flipping it over but then the counterweight hits the motor. I moved the counterweight but then the whole thing is horribly out of balance. i will be sending it back to the shop.

The multi-speed motor looks a little smaller, as the battery and electronics are mounted remotely. Does anyone know if I am likely to encounter the same problems with this model?
