Just bought Celestron C8 XLT SGT ... Question

Recommended Posts

Last nite i was scared of my car battery dying so i ran the engine all the time I was out with my scope... 3 hours... and my fuel went down a lot.... How long realistically should my telescope run on the battery in a car? I dont wanna run the engine if i dont need to... likewise i dont want the battery to die and be stuck not able to get home. lol

My car is a Seat Ibiza TDI 1.9 Diesel and has the same battery from new in 2004 if that matters.

Unless your battery is knacked, i would have thought you would collapse of exhaustion before your lonely scope flattened your car battery to be honest.
